Montavilla Park on Portland.gov
This page contains information about Montavilla Park in Portland, Oregon's Montavilla neighborhood.
Montavilla Park is a welcoming neighborhood park in Northeast Portland that has served the community for more than 100 years. Located near Northeast 82nd Avenue and Northeast Glisan Street in the Montavilla neighborhood, the park is about 10 acres and offers a mix of recreation, gathering spaces, and outdoor play for people of all ages. The park was acquired in 1921 and continues to be an important community space in East Portland.
The park is home to the Montavilla Community Center and the Montavilla Outdoor Pool, both of which have been part of the park since the 1920s. Today, community members visit the park to swim, play sports, enjoy picnics, and spend time outdoors with friends and family. Amenities include a playground, picnic tables, picnic shelters, soccer, futsal, and softball fields, paved and unpaved walking paths, and accessible features throughout the park. Accessible restrooms, picnic areas, and play spaces help make the park more welcoming for a wide range of visitors.
Montavilla Park is also a place where neighbors gather for community activities, youth sports, and recreation programs throughout the year. Open grassy spaces and mature trees give the park a comfortable neighborhood feel while still providing plenty of room for recreation and events. The park's location next to the community center helps make it a lively and active destination for the surrounding neighborhood.

Park history
The name of the area around this park got its start as Mt. Tabor Villa in the 1890s. After the Mt. Tabor Street Railway Company started running an East Portland route from what is now Grand Ave to SE 55 Avenue, development in the Tabor area exploded. Montavilla was one of the names given to neighborhoods by their developers. Also created were North Mt. Tabor, Tabor Heights, Tabordale, and East Tabor Villa neighborhoods.
All dogs must be leashed in this park.

Assessment dates are copied from the public Parks Amenities layer. Old dates mean this source does not publish a newer assessment for that asset, not that we have confirmed no newer internal inspection exists. PP&R does not publish itemized repair costs, so this ledger shows needs without dollar figures.

The public asset layer includes `PictureID` and `Hyper_pic`, but those values point to PP&R internal file-share paths, not public image URLs. Asset-level inspection photos need a PP&R export or public ArcGIS attachments before this app can render them.
