Sellwood Community Center on Portland.gov
While the former Sellwood Community Center facility is still owned by the City of Portland, the Friends of Sellwood Community House now lease the facility. You can find information about their programs, rentals, events, classes, and more on the Friends of Sellwood Community House website.
Park history
The building was originally constructed as a residential hotel for the men who worked in the old Sellwood Log Mill. It also had a small swimming pool which was decommissioned in the 1940s. In 1910, it became the first branch of the YMCA in Portland. PP&R began teaching classes there in 1918, and the City of Portland purchased the facility in 1920 as its second community center. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006, one of only three such designated buildings in the neighborhood. It is also a City of Portland Historic Landmark. Portland Parks & Recreation no longer offers programming at the building but rather rents it to a community group.

Assessment dates are copied from the public Parks Amenities layer. Old dates mean this source does not publish a newer assessment for that asset, not that we have confirmed no newer internal inspection exists. PP&R does not publish itemized repair costs, so this ledger shows needs without dollar figures.
Public data does not currently flag repair candidates for this park. Additional PP&R maintenance exports can be added without changing the page structure.

The public asset layer includes `PictureID` and `Hyper_pic`, but those values point to PP&R internal file-share paths, not public image URLs. Asset-level inspection photos need a PP&R export or public ArcGIS attachments before this app can render them.
